Campfire

Last night we enjoyed a campfire at Grandma and Papa's house.

We didn't have any marshmallows, so the kids ate bananas instead...and were quite happy about it, too!

Jonas Meets Hayden

Jonas will be a great big cousin! Here's some pictures of Jonas meeting Hayden for the first time.

Jonas gave Hayden a Tigger stuffed animal, the Very Hungry Caterpillar (Jonas' favorite book), and a Twinkle Twinkle Little Star book that sings.

Jonas did such a good job with his new baby cousin. I can't wait to see them grow up together!

Hayden Michael

Jonas' new cousin, Hayden Michael was born this morning at 4:57 A.M. He is 6 lbs, 11 oz, and is 20" long. I got to go up and see him this afternoon, but Jonas has to wait until Uncle Mike and Aunt Mary bring him home. He is so excited to meet his new little cousin, even if he thinks newborn babies look like aliens!

We love you, Hayden!

Zoo Time!

Some new zoo pics!

Happy Birthday Luke and Amelia!

We enjoyed celebrating Luke and Amelia's birthdays on Saturday. We had fun eating good food, playing games, and eating cake. Happy birthday guys!

Fantasy Island

The whole family headed out to Fantasy Island last week for some fun. Jonas was big enough to go on some more rides this year, although much to his disappointment, he still wasn't big enough for the roller coasters. 6 more inches!

The classics:

See that big kid in the tea cup with them? Jonas totally tried to fight him...he's not too smart.

Super cool motorcycle...had to ride it to be like Uncle Mike.

Had a bunch of fun in the water park. Jonas went down slides, played in the wave pool, and rode around the lazy river. Would've gotten more pics, but I was swimming too!

Enjoying the LOUD shootout!

One of the scariest rides of the day, and Jonas and Bethany both loved it!

Can't wait till next year!

Read and Relax

Abby and Bekah are having a good time relaxing and reading books together!

Growing Up

I realized yesterday that my little boy really is growing up.  This realization comes at a good time for me.  I have been slightly anxious about how he will do in Kindergarten, and about if he is ready to be at school all day long.  It seems like he is showing me in his own way that he is ready, even if he might have some struggles along the way.

We were eating lunch at Applebee's yesterday and Jonas had to go to the bathroom.  He insisted that I let him go in the men's room because "I'm too old to go potty with Mommy now".  He also went to a VBS program yesterday at a different school, and as I was dropping him off I realized that this is the first time I had left him somewhere and not stayed to teach. I told him I would pick him up when it was over, bracing myself for him to turn into clingy, whiny Jonas.  He looked and me and said, "you're leaving??".  I said yes, and his response was..."Ok!! Bye!!".

So, either he's growing up and ready for Kindergarten, or he's just sick of me (and if that's the case, he's going to be really disappointed with Kindergarten!).

Cousins

Our Chicago cousins are in from out of town for a little bit, so we all headed over to Aunt Marie's for some swimming and quality time. The swimming didn't work out at first, but the kids sure enjoyed the rain!

We made them all come under the awning when the thunder started, so we took the opportunity to get as many of them together as we could for a group shot:

We did finally get some pool time in:

And Abby tried the rain out the second time around:

We had a great time. Hope we can see you again soon, Max and Leo!

Jonas is Home!

Jonas got home yesterday afternoon from a fun vacation with Daddy at Black Lake. Hopefully, I'll have some pictures to share with you soon. Until then, here's what we did yesterday.

Our Aunt Mary Jean and Uncle Jim are up visiting from Florida, so we visited with them and our cousin Ben at Grandma and Papa's house.

After that, we went to the Eastern Hills Mall for the Barbecue Bash. Unfortunately, when we got there, the food was gone. So, Jonas had some fun in the "Kids Zone", and then we ate in the mall's food court.

Jonas can swim!

I'm so proud of my little man :)

Columbus, Ohio

Here's some pictures from our weekend in Columbus! We went to a theater to see some old cartoons, which Jonas thought were hilarious.

We went to Worthington Pools, and the kids had a great time playing on the splash pad and in the kids' pool. The highlight was the green slide, which Jonas went down as many times as he could!

By the way, this is the same toy Jonas pouting about not being able to use in Charlotte, so at least he got to use it here :)

That's Jonas' feet at the bottom of the slide!

Playground time...

And some playtime at Grandma Miriam's house

We had a great time Grandma Miriam and Papa Jon! Can't wait to do it again!
