Kindergarten Graduation

For the past 2 years, I've taught Jonas and my niece Bethany.  It has been amazing to see how much they have learned and grown since they were coming into my Pre-K classroom last year.  I am so proud of them for how hard they've worked!  I love my whole class, and they did awesome!  Congratulations Cole, Denny, Jonas, Bethany, Joshua, and Amelia.  Here comes 1st grade!

Fun Things

This post is basically going to be a few things that are not major enough to have a post of their own, but are still cute anyway.

Jonas riding his bike - this might not seem to be a big deal, but he was PEDALING!  Which is a huge step up from the blatant refusal to pedal in the past :-)

Happy Father's Day, Dad!  Jonas picked these out as a gift for his father...I'm sure he couldn't have been more thrilled.

Jonas and Uncle Matt were being goofy and stretched out this toy to fit as a hat.  The scary part was how much fun Uncle Matt had doing it...

On the last full day of school I always have my students clean the tables with shaving cream.  They always have a blast, of course!

Field Day

Today we had our field day at school.  Despite a rough start and a little frustration over not winning ribbons, Jonas ended up winning a 3rd place ribbon in the 50 yard dash, and some participation ribbons for his team winning the tug-of-war.  He couldn't have been happier and showed them off all day.  It was the perfect day for it, and we all had a great time!

Sack race - this one was rough...but Jonas made it through and got a ribbon in the next event - the 50 yard dash.  Bethany did great too, but she would only participate if I did too...the things I do to be a good teacher/aunt :-)

Thanks for everyone that worked hard to make this event happen!  The kids love it!

Sophie!

Sophie enjoyed some quality time outside with the kids yesterday.  I'm not sure if "enjoyed" is the right word for how Sophie felt, but the kids definitely enjoyed themselves!

School Picnic

On Wednesday we went to Camp Pioneer for our school picnic.  Despite the rain early on, it turned out to be a beautiful day.  Some of the kids even braved the lake, including Jonas, of course.

We also did a scavenger hunt, but I forgot to take pictures of that :-)  I did get a fair amount of pictures at the beach though.  Jonas loved it, although the girls weren't quite as ready to freeze in the water.

After the beach we had a really nice chapel and then headed back to school.  It was a fun, beautiful day!
