Vacation - Day 3

On Wednesday, we went to Splash Planet, an indoor water park perfect for children Jonas' age. Their was water splashing out of everywhere, and even Mommy couldn't avoid getting wet. Jonas had a great time and swam and played for 4 hours!

After Splash Planet we headed back to Aunt Laura's and ate a late lunch, and then Jonas took a nap. When he woke up, he started vomiting. I thought maybe it was because he swallowed too much chlorine water, but now I have the flu too! After a rough ending to our trip, we were able to drive home on Thursday without too much trouble. Overall, it was a very fun trip. We loved catching up with Aunt Laura and Uncle Carlos!

Vacation - Day 2

On Tuesday, we headed over to the Lazy 5 Ranch. We rode on a horse drawn wagon through the park, and all different kinds of animals came right up to the wagon to be fed. We saw pigs, deer, emus, ostriches, water buffalo, giraffes, zebras, bison, cows, elk, goats, and even a rhinoceros! Jonas' favorite was the water buffalo, because you got to drop the food in their mouth and it made their face all dirty! I loved being so close to all the animals. I definitely had at least as much fun as Jonas! After the wagon ride we headed over to the petting zoo and to see some of the animals that are in cages. They even had a Noah's ark playground!

The wagon - We were right by the driver, who was very nice and taught Jonas a lot about the animals!

Feeding an emu

Feeding the giraffes - Jonas had to feed the baby because he was too small to feed the big ones!

Feeding the water buffalo - Once Jonas got some in his nose and he sneezed it out all over him, yuck!

Stop and smell the flowers

Mmmm, corn dog!

Noah's Ark playground

On the way back from the ranch we stopped for - you guessed it, ice cream!

Vacation - Day 1

Jonas in Aunt Laura's new house!

Jonas and the Chick-fil-A cow

Jonas "sleeping" on a couch in World Market

The first day of vacation was technically just driving all the way to North Carolina. We did go out to dinner at a very nice Chinese restaurant. I'm counting the first day as Monday, when we were actually there for a full day. We spent the day hanging out with Aunt Laura and Uncle Carlos, going to World Market (which Mommy was very excited about!), and going to Chick-fil-A. Jonas loved the cow! We also got to go see Aunt Laura's new house, which is beautiful! We finished the day off with some ice cream at Dairy Queen!

Happy Birthday, Bethany!

Last weekend we celebrated Bethany's 4th birthday with a "Sleeping Beauty" party. The kids went on a treasure hunt to find goodies that the fairies left behind, played "Princess Twister", and ate a yummy castle cake! They also tried to play princess hide and seek - but they didn't enjoy the part where they had to give up their Hershey's kisses to the person they found to wake them up! And of course, Bethany opened up her presents, and Jonas was very excited that she loved her Tinkerbell music box that he picked out for her. A lot of fun was had by all! We love you Bethers. Happy Birthday!

Musical

Jonas and Bethany sang with their preschool class for the musical tonight. They were super cute!

Kindergarten Wanna-be

Jonas hangs out in Kindergarten with me before he goes to his pre-school class on Tuesdays and Thursdays. He tries to be just like the other kids!

Birthday Party

We celebrated Bethany's birthday on Sunday. The scooter was definitely the highlight of the party!

Bounce Magic

On Saturday Jonas, Rebekah, and Ben went out to Bounce Magic for the afternoon. Jonas had a blast hanging out with Ben and bounced until he was super tired. He fell asleep within 3 minutes in the car!

Easter at Grandma and Papa's!

Uncle Mike and Aunt Mary got Jonas some really nice Easter presents. His favorite part was the Hot Wheels, and he started lining them up right away!

The kids went on an Easter egg hunt and Jonas found a ton of eggs and a big basket full of goodies!

After all the excitement, we calmed down by relaxing and watching "The Princess and the Frog", and Jonas and Bekah cuddled.

Roller Skating

To continue on with "Awesome April", we went roller skating! Jonas loved it and even skated on his own a little bit, although he liked holding mommy's hand better. His favorite part? Falling!

Losson Park

Aunt Lisa has declared it "Awesome April", and is doing awesome things with the kids every day. Today, they got to go to Losson Park for lunch and to walk the trails. They even got to pop bubble wrap!

Quote of the Trip:

Aunt Lisa: What kind of animals are in the woods?
Jonas: Cows!

Zoo Day!

Since I had off from work today, Jonas and I went to the zoo for the first time of the year. He was really excited that he got that close to the birds in the rain forest!

Quote of the Trip:

As we're getting out of the car...
Jonas: Mommy, you know what?
Mommy: What?
Jonas: I can smell the elephant's butt!

The Easter Bunny

Jonas found his basket from the Easter bunny Sunday night when he got home. He got really cool sports things made from chocolate - even a hockey puck! He also got some stickers, a book, and chocolate flavored chapstick!

Happy Easter!

Jonas got me a beautiful plant for Easter, and loved watering it (and his little one) with the hose. He enjoyed some time outside playing with his lawnmower and playing at Great Grandma Fran's house!
