Christmas Time is Here...

Our kids performed in our school's Christmas Celebration this past week.  Jonas and Bethany both sang "Go Tell it on the Mountain" with sign language.

We had our gift exchange at school and Santa came to hand out the presents!

Jonas got a super cool monster truck and silly string from his special friend, Will.  Kyle asked for pancakes, and was really excited when he got them!

Christmas parties were underway this weekend, starting with a Thompson party at Aunt Marie's and Uncle Larry's.  We got to visit with lots of cousins, and Jonas ate tons of treats.  The self-playing piano was a hit, too!

Pre-Christmas Catch Up

Well, it's been over a month since my last post, so I feel the need to do a massive catch up before Christmas hits and I have a hundred new pictures to go through.  So here's our last month, at a glance.

Jonas had his Thanksgiving feast at school.  He dressed up like a Pilgrim, and I'm pretty sure he just ate rolls and dessert.

Jonas on Thanksgiving Day...he loves Hayden's horsie.

Decorating the apartment

The Festival of Lights at the fairgrounds.  We saw a magic show, a game show, reindeer, and of course, Santa.

The first snowfall...Jonas was in heaven.  Too bad there's no snow now and it's almost Christmas...

Jonas finished another session of swim class.  He did an awesome job!

The 1st and 2nd graders led chapel last week by presenting the Christmas story.  They worked really hard!  Jonas did a great job memorizing his lines and made a very handsome wise man.  Bethany was Mary, and she looked beautiful!

We decorated Christmas cut out cookies.  Yummy!  (Maybe not the most sanitary cookies...)

There!  Now bring on Christmas!

6 years old!

Obviously, Jonas turned 6 almost 2 months ago.  But, he just had his physical a couple weeks ago.  My little guy is 45 inches and 48 pounds.  Still a few inches away from the big rides at the amusement parks, but he's a healthy boy :-)

Summer in November

We were so blessed to have such gorgeous weather today.  Jonas helped Papa and Grandma clean up for winter by hosing down all the kids' toys at their house.  Of course, this was way more fun for him than it was work...he got to play in water!

Happy Halloween!

We finished out the Halloween season strong.  Malloween yesterday at the Eastern Hills Mall...
It was actually ridiculously crowded and the kids got barely any candy, but we bought them a hot pretzel, and of course, that makes everything ok!

We went trick-or-treating tonight with Jonas' Dad and the Lafferty clan.  It's amazing how cold and rain doesn't even come close to stopping kids from wanting to get free candy :-)

Now...what am I going to do with all this candy?!?

Playgrounds and Pumpkins and Costumes - Oh my!

Jonas and I took advantage of the gorgeous weather that we had last week and hit the playground one more time before winter hits.

Jonas and Bethany really worked together to be able to pick up Jonas' giant pumpkin!

What's gonna work?  Teamwork!  I did have to take it from them immediately after I took that picture so they wouldn't drop it and let it smash into smithereens.  Of course, once we got the pumpkins where they needed to go, it was pumpkin carving time!  Jonas designed his own jack-o-lantern face, and I did the best I could to carve out his masterpiece :-)

Last night we went to Trinity's annual "Trunk or Treat".  It ended up being in the gym because of the rain, but the kids had a blast anyway, and came home with tons of candy!

Jonas loved doing his strong Hulk poses, and can't wait to dress up again for Halloween!

Fall Fun

Here's another random set of pictures of some fun things we've done over the past week or so.

We celebrated Papa's 58th birthday over the weekend.  Due to his new Ebay hobby, we made him an Ebay addict cake.  The kids were excited to help make the cut out stars to decorate, and of course, Papa loved it.

We went to a corn maze via tractor ride, where Jonas adopted a caterpillar for the day and kept it safe on an ear of corn.  We found the 4 clues to answer our adventure questions and eventually (after about an hour) made it to the end.

After the corn maze, we took another tractor ride over to the fence maze, collected our 12 stamps (eventually) and played some games at the end.  Somehow, the caterpillar managed to escape (I don't know how, I swear!).

After all the excitement at the mazes, we headed out to another farm to get our pumpkins.

And now you're caught up!  Until next time...
