Face Painting!

We went over to Uncle Mike and Aunt Mary's tonight to welcome them back from their honeymoon. Jonas had a lot of fun playing with Samantha (Aunt Mary's niece). She even painted Jonas' face!

Black Lake

In the middle of August, Jonas went to Black Lake with his daddy and the Herdlein side of the family. He had a great time playing with his cousins and aunts and uncles. He even got to ride on a boat!

Stuffed Animals

Jonas has a serious obsession with his stuffed animals! He piles them all into Bekah's swing, and then turns on the music for them to listen to. He swings them, and then takes them out and puts them back in over and over.

Crystal Beach

Despite the rainy weather today, we actually made it out to Crystal Beach for some swimming and playing in the sand. Jonas took a little bit to warm up to the water, but he had a lot of fun once he did. His favorite part was jumping the waves with Mommy. He also spent a lot of time being concerned about Baxter, "Aunt" Beth's new little puppy. Once the thunderstorms hit, we packed up and headed over to the McKernans for some yummy hot dogs and hamburgers!

Cars

Shouldn't they switch cars?!?

Painting

Jonas is becoming a pretty good artist!

Bye Paul, We'll Miss You!

We all went over Aunt Marie's yesterday for a party for our cousin Paul, who is joining the army and leaving in the beginning of September. Jonas had fun swimming and playing in the sandbox with Bethany at the party. Good luck Paul, we'll be praying for you to come home safe!

Laundry Basket Fun!

There's nothing like playing in a laundry basket!

Fantasy Island

We took the kids to Martin's Fantasy Island today. They loved it! This is a picture of the western "shoot out" show that they put on. Jonas kept saying "whoa, boom!" every time they shot the guns.

Jonas was very brave on the carousel and held on all by himself. He kept telling his horsie to go, and when I asked him if he was winning the race, he said yes.

This car ride was one of Jonas' favorites, largely due to the fact the he could press a button and make an incredibly annoying high pitched noise...which he did, the whole time.

Not surprisingly, since the children have been so obsessed with boats lately, this was also a favorite. Although they each got in trouble for touching the water, overall they did a great job driving those boats.

At the park's petting zoo, Jonas wasted no time going up to the animals. He was certainly not afraid of them, although Mommy was a little bit nervous.

Of course, Jonas loved the water park, which had a little area just for small children. He was a little too brave, and went under a couple times by accident. It didn't bother him; he tried to do it on purpose after that. He also went down the dragon slide several times and the nice lifeguards there made sure he got down safely to Mommy.

After the water park we went back to ride the best rides one more time, and then headed for home. Jonas fell asleep within 5 minutes of being in the car. Nothing like a good day outside to tire you out!

Niagara Falls

On Monday we met Grandma and Papa at Niagara Falls to go for a nice walk. Jonas was pretty impressed with all the water, and kept yelling for boats. He was treated to a Spongebob popsicle, which melted all over pretty quickly and dyed his hands red. What a mess! Then, to top it all off, he got to go on a trolley ride and see all the sights from the window.

Reception

The reception was tons of fun. The building it was in had a beautiful view of Lake Erie that everybody enjoyed. Jonas ate a lot of food, and especially appreciated the pasta and the sherbet. He jumped right into dancing, and danced until he dropped. He almost fell asleep in Aunt Lisa's arms, and Papa Jon (Uncle Matt's Dad) was kind enough to bring him to the cabin we were staying in and put him to bed. It was a great party!

The Ceremony

Jonas was very good getting ready and waiting to go down the aisle. We switched the children so they could go first down the aisle since they were getting a little restless. Jonas started to go...and then went off to the side and sat in the dirt. When I got him back up, he ran down the aisle as fast as he could straight to Uncle Mike. Poor Bethany was left behind, and walked down the aisle with her mommy. After that, Jonas hung out with grandma for the rest of the ceremony, and even followed her up for the Mother's Sand Ceremony. He was very cute, and I was so proud of him for going down the aisle!

Uncle Mike and Aunt Mary's Wedding - The Rehearsal

Jonas dressed up in his Hawaiian shirt for Uncle Mike and Aunt Mary's rehearsal to stay with the beach theme. He was not very cooperative during the rehearsal, but he had a great time at the party at Duff's. He played video games, ate pizza and chicken wings, and played with his new groom doll that he got from Uncle Mike and Aunt Mary for being their ring bearer. They also gave him a really nice cross pin to wear on his tux at the wedding. I think Duff's might be Jonas' favorite restaurant...a true Buffalonian!

Let's Go Bisons!

We all went to a Bison's game last night to enjoy $1 popcorn and ice cream. Jonas loved it and watched a little bit of the game, but mostly he played with Bethany. They amused themselves with games such as "Where did Jonas go?" We left after the 7th inning stretch so the children could go to bed, and the Bison's were losing anyway. Of course, for the 2nd time in a row, the Bison's came back and won after we left! Maybe we should go and leave early more often...

Prayer time!

I just have to share with you all how adorable my little boy is. Every day at dinner we say our prayer as a family. Jonas folds his hands along with us and grins the whole time we say the prayer. At bedtime, I say his bedtime prayer with him. He just started saying "Amen" when I'm done! And of course he gives me a hug and kiss before I lay him down. I am so lucky to have such a sweet boy. Who could ask for anything more than that?

Jonas is a huge fan of the play fountains at Cazenovia Park. Look how soaked he got!

Water Fountains!

Thursday Jonas spent some time at the water fountains near Como Park School with his cousins and Faith. He loved playing in the spouts and getting soaked!

We finished off the day at Frosty's. Jonas finished the bottom of my ice cream cone. He definitely takes after me in the ice cream department!
