Trunk or Treat!

Jonas' fever broke just in time for us to head over to Trinity for their Trunk or Treat event. Jonas and Bethany dressed up as m & m's. They were absolutely adorable!

We stopped at Great Grandma's for some treats and pumpkins! Jonas had to eat his cookies fast before Bethany stole them!

It was a little chilly outside, but Bethany and Jonas made it around the parking lot 2 whole times. Mommy and Daddy will enjoy his candy!

After trunk or treating, we went to Nino's for some late dinner. Jonas sported his Halloween bib and hat!

I Don't Feel Good...

Jonas has spent most of the week with a fever. Here he is with Grandpa trying to sleep it off.

Big Boy!

Jonas moved into his big kid car seat! Now he gets to see where he's going all the time!

My Little Mozart!

Jonas got a piano from his Grandma and Grandpa for his birthday. He loves the music and "singing" into the microphone!

Last Bottle

On his birthday, Jonas enjoyed his last bottle. He is doing very well with his sippy cups though!

1 Year Checkup

Jonas went to the doctor tonight. He got 3 shots, and of course, he was very good. He is healthy and normal. He weighs 21 lbs, 14 oz, and is 28 1/2 inches. That puts him in about the 25 percentile for height and the 35 percentile for weight. My little chunker! We were given the OK to switch to whole milk instead of formula, and change car seats to a front facing one. Overall, a very good visit!

Birthday Party Number 2 - The Presents

More presents! Jonas got more books, clothes, and toys! What a lucky little boy he is.

Birthday Party Number 2 - Wealthy, Healthy, or Knowledgeable?

The Herdlein's have a tradition that on a baby's first birthday, a piece of bread, a dollar bill, and a book are placed in front of the baby. If he chooses the bread, he will be healthy. If he chooses the money, he will be wealthy, and if he chooses the book, he will be knowledgeable.

Without hesitation, Jonas picked the bread and started chowing down (big surprise). Andrew was a little disappointed, since he was hoping that Jonas would support him in his old age.

So, we decided to see what Jonas' second choice was. Sorry Daddy!

Birthday Party Number 2 - Grandma Herdlein's House

Grandma Herdlein's house is all decorated for Halloween. Jonas checked out all of the decorations. Some were scarier than others!

Birthday Party Number 1 - Just Hanging Out

Aunt Laura came home from North Carolina to see Jonas on his birthday!

Jonas and Bethany had fun hanging out on the swing from Uncle Mike and Aunt Mary!

Birthday Party Number 1 - The Clean Up

It's a good thing Jonas loves baths, because he really needed one after that cake!

Birthday Party Number 1 - The Cake

Jonas didn't really get the whole blowing out the candle thing...but that's not the part he cared about anyway!

"OK, I'll start off slow..."

"Nobody's going to stop me?!?"

"This is the best ever!! How often do I get a birthday??"

"Awww, come on Dad! I'm done already?"

Birthday Party Number 1 - The Presents

Jonas got a ton of great presents! He got some much needed new clothes, books, paints, a ride-on toy, a swing, Veggietales stuff, stuffed animals, his Tonka truck, and more! He has a lot to keep him busy!

Bethany helped out opening Jonas' presents...he wasn't fast enough for her!

Jonas finally decided that what he needed to do was climb right on top of the presents!

He loved the Tonka truck balloon that came with Grandma and Grandpa's present.

Birthday Party Number 1 - Showing Off

Jonas took the opportunity before too many people showed up to walk for everybody! What a big boy he is.

Jonas' 1st Birthday...The Preparation

On Friday night I had Catherine, my mom, and Lisa helping me make Jonas' birthday cake. We started off by making a fire engine cake, which the website labeled as "easy and fun". I did not agree, and ended up bawling by the end of it.

Take 2 - Jonas' theme was Tonka trucks, he loves them! His plates had a truck on them with a birthday cake inside, so we decided to use the idea from the plates. Aunt Lisa and Grandma rushed to the store and Aunt Lisa bought Jonas this Tonka truck. Jonas loves it, and it worked wonderfully for the cake too!

Walking!

No pictures unfortunately, but I had to let everybody know our exciting news! Jonas walked 6 steps tonight! He started off walking from Grandma to me, about 2 steps at a time. By the end, he was up to pulling himself up on something and walking 6 steps to me! He is very excited about it. He bounces up and down like a maniac every time he walk a little. It won't be too long before he's running around here!
