Fantasy Island

We took the kids to Martin's Fantasy Island today. They loved it! This is a picture of the western "shoot out" show that they put on. Jonas kept saying "whoa, boom!" every time they shot the guns.

Jonas was very brave on the carousel and held on all by himself. He kept telling his horsie to go, and when I asked him if he was winning the race, he said yes.

This car ride was one of Jonas' favorites, largely due to the fact the he could press a button and make an incredibly annoying high pitched noise...which he did, the whole time.

Not surprisingly, since the children have been so obsessed with boats lately, this was also a favorite. Although they each got in trouble for touching the water, overall they did a great job driving those boats.

At the park's petting zoo, Jonas wasted no time going up to the animals. He was certainly not afraid of them, although Mommy was a little bit nervous.

Of course, Jonas loved the water park, which had a little area just for small children. He was a little too brave, and went under a couple times by accident. It didn't bother him; he tried to do it on purpose after that. He also went down the dragon slide several times and the nice lifeguards there made sure he got down safely to Mommy.

After the water park we went back to ride the best rides one more time, and then headed for home. Jonas fell asleep within 5 minutes of being in the car. Nothing like a good day outside to tire you out!

Niagara Falls

On Monday we met Grandma and Papa at Niagara Falls to go for a nice walk. Jonas was pretty impressed with all the water, and kept yelling for boats. He was treated to a Spongebob popsicle, which melted all over pretty quickly and dyed his hands red. What a mess! Then, to top it all off, he got to go on a trolley ride and see all the sights from the window.

Reception

The reception was tons of fun. The building it was in had a beautiful view of Lake Erie that everybody enjoyed. Jonas ate a lot of food, and especially appreciated the pasta and the sherbet. He jumped right into dancing, and danced until he dropped. He almost fell asleep in Aunt Lisa's arms, and Papa Jon (Uncle Matt's Dad) was kind enough to bring him to the cabin we were staying in and put him to bed. It was a great party!

The Ceremony

Jonas was very good getting ready and waiting to go down the aisle. We switched the children so they could go first down the aisle since they were getting a little restless. Jonas started to go...and then went off to the side and sat in the dirt. When I got him back up, he ran down the aisle as fast as he could straight to Uncle Mike. Poor Bethany was left behind, and walked down the aisle with her mommy. After that, Jonas hung out with grandma for the rest of the ceremony, and even followed her up for the Mother's Sand Ceremony. He was very cute, and I was so proud of him for going down the aisle!

Uncle Mike and Aunt Mary's Wedding - The Rehearsal

Jonas dressed up in his Hawaiian shirt for Uncle Mike and Aunt Mary's rehearsal to stay with the beach theme. He was not very cooperative during the rehearsal, but he had a great time at the party at Duff's. He played video games, ate pizza and chicken wings, and played with his new groom doll that he got from Uncle Mike and Aunt Mary for being their ring bearer. They also gave him a really nice cross pin to wear on his tux at the wedding. I think Duff's might be Jonas' favorite restaurant...a true Buffalonian!

Kissing Cousins

Jonas is going on vacation to Black Lake this week. Bethany is really going to miss him, and she gave him a big hug and kiss goodbye.

Let's Go Bisons!

We all went to a Bison's game last night to enjoy $1 popcorn and ice cream. Jonas loved it and watched a little bit of the game, but mostly he played with Bethany. They amused themselves with games such as "Where did Jonas go?" We left after the 7th inning stretch so the children could go to bed, and the Bison's were losing anyway. Of course, for the 2nd time in a row, the Bison's came back and won after we left! Maybe we should go and leave early more often...

Prayer time!

I just have to share with you all how adorable my little boy is. Every day at dinner we say our prayer as a family. Jonas folds his hands along with us and grins the whole time we say the prayer. At bedtime, I say his bedtime prayer with him. He just started saying "Amen" when I'm done! And of course he gives me a hug and kiss before I lay him down. I am so lucky to have such a sweet boy. Who could ask for anything more than that?

Water!!

Jonas is a huge fan of the play fountains at Cazenovia Park. Look how soaked he got!

Water Fountains!

Thursday Jonas spent some time at the water fountains near Como Park School with his cousins and Faith. He loved playing in the spouts and getting soaked!

We finished off the day at Frosty's. Jonas finished the bottom of my ice cream cone. He definitely takes after me in the ice cream department!

They're Back!

Where's Jonas?

There he is!

Aunt Beth and Uncle Ryan got back from their honeymoon! We headed over there tonight to welcome them back and see some pictures. Jonas enjoyed playing outside with the "big kids". He especially liked Brad, who let him walk on Mommy's car!

Back on the Horse!

Jonas had his first playground trip since his ER trip last weekend. He wasn't afraid at all...big surprise (not)! He did feel better holding hands with Bethers down the slide. (By the way, these pics were taken with my brand new camera, which can take movies! They will be coming soon to Jonas' blog!)

Summerfest

We spent the day at Camp Pioneer today for their annual Summerfest. Jonas went swimming in the lake, rode a train, and played on the playground. He also kept stealing cake from the food tent where Mommy and Grandma were working, and mooched cotton candy off a lady at a picnic table. Great Grandma let him ride the train by himself the second time, and by the time he came back he had fallen asleep sitting up. Where's a camera when you need one? Great Grandma tried to buy him ice cream, but he had already fallen asleep again on Mommy. Check out last year when we were at Summerfest.

Farmer Boy

At the Perry's ice cream place they have these really cool tractors all over. Jonas loved them!

Sand Art

Jonas can have quite the creative side when he wants to. He got very into making these sand art pictures with the salt shakers. It was just a messy enough project for him to love!

"My Hat!"

Jonas and I went on a bike ride this morning and he refused to take off his helmet, or "hat" as he calls it, for the rest of the morning. Judging from Friday's adventure, Jonas might be safer that way...

First ER Trip

Before the ER visit:

After the ER visit:

Jonas fell on the playground yesterday and hit his head on a pole, causing a gash in his forehead. Aunt Lisa had both her girls with her as well, so with some assistance from people at the pool area and the first aid center, she finally got him going to Children's Hospital. Andrew and I met her there so she could go home. Jonas was covered in blood and really quite disgusting, but he was a trooper while the ER nurse cleaned him up a bit. 3 1/2 hours later, he got some glue to hold the cut together. Andrew had gone to get us some food, so he missed the 5 minute appointment. I had to hold Jonas down so the poor nurse could fix his cut. He did not appreciate her going near his "boo-boo". Of course, in true Jonas style, as soon as it was over he was fine. We ended the night with some dinner at Page's and then Jonas hit the sack. Mom and I still needed to recover with some chocolate and wine! Jonas is doing great today!

Go Horsie!

Jonas likes to play on his rocking horse, and says "wee!" the whole time he is on it. The cool thing is, it's my rocking horse from when I was a kid! Gotta love the toys that last generations.

Sprinkler Fun!

We took advantage of the excessively hot day today and had some fun out in the yard with the sprinkler!
