Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We celebrated St. Patrick at school today. Guess what?? Lucky the Leprechaun came to our classroom! He obviously had a lot of fun...

But he lost his shoe, and a bunch of shamrocks! Luckily my super students found the shoe and gathered all the shamrocks, and we left it for Lucky to come back and get.

We spent the rest of the day graphing Lucky charms, writing about what we would do if we had a pot of gold, measuring each other with shamrocks, playing shamrock bingo, playing a "find the leprechaun" game, enjoying yummy green cookies that Josh brought in, and having shamrock shakes...

Lucky came back during gym to get his shoe, and left the kids a pot of gold! (Chocolate gold, that is!)

This is the leprechaun game. The kids had to sound out silly words to look behind it and see if they found the leprechaun!

February Fun

Ok, we are half way through February, so I guess it's time to share a bit of what we have been up to!

We celebrated Groundhog Day at school by making some ground hog waffles. Super fun, and yummy too!

This past Friday was our 100th Day of School party...even though it was really only the 99th day :-) We had a fun day full of different centers and snacks. Unfortunately, Jonas was feeling pretty lousy and was totally sick by the end of the day. I love his church made out of popsicle sticks though!

This was Jonas by the end of the day. Poor little guy! He pretty much slept the rest of the night.

On Tuesday, we had our Valentines Day party. The kids loved all the games and crafts, but I think their favorite part was the cupcakes!

It's been busy so far! Next week is winter break - so I'm sure we'll have lots more going on!

Chalk Day!

We have a "special friends" program at our school where an older child is paired up with a younger child to do various activities throughout the year. Our first even was chalk day...super fun!
