Field Day

Today we had our field day at school.  Despite a rough start and a little frustration over not winning ribbons, Jonas ended up winning a 3rd place ribbon in the 50 yard dash, and some participation ribbons for his team winning the tug-of-war.  He couldn't have been happier and showed them off all day.  It was the perfect day for it, and we all had a great time!

Sack race - this one was rough...but Jonas made it through and got a ribbon in the next event - the 50 yard dash.  Bethany did great too, but she would only participate if I did too...the things I do to be a good teacher/aunt :-)

Thanks for everyone that worked hard to make this event happen!  The kids love it!

School Picnic

On Wednesday we went to Camp Pioneer for our school picnic.  Despite the rain early on, it turned out to be a beautiful day.  Some of the kids even braved the lake, including Jonas, of course.

We also did a scavenger hunt, but I forgot to take pictures of that :-)  I did get a fair amount of pictures at the beach though.  Jonas loved it, although the girls weren't quite as ready to freeze in the water.

Spring Musical

Last week Jonas and Bethany performed in Trinity's spring musical.  They did a great job, and looked really cute with all their matching t-shirts and jeans.

Also...a little plug here...Trinity is a great Christian school, and currently enrolling!  Check it out (thinktrinitychristian.com) and share it with anyone who you think might be interested :-)

Now, enjoy some super adorable pictures of the kids!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We celebrated St. Patrick at school today.  Guess what??  Lucky the Leprechaun came to our classroom!  He obviously had a lot of fun...

But he lost his shoe, and a bunch of shamrocks!  Luckily my super students found the shoe and gathered all the shamrocks, and we left it for Lucky to come back and get.

We spent the rest of the day graphing Lucky charms, writing about what we would do if we had a pot of gold, measuring each other with shamrocks, playing shamrock bingo, playing a "find the leprechaun" game, enjoying yummy green cookies that Josh brought in, and having shamrock shakes...

This is the leprechaun game.  The kids had to sound out silly words to look behind it and see if they found the leprechaun!

Miscellaneous Fun

The Kindergartners were allowed to pick out books from the school library to take home for the first time this year last Tuesday.  Jonas picked out a Star Wars book, and was totally into reading it all week.

Saturday we headed over to the Radt's for a Dove chocolate party.  While the mommies were busy eating yummy chocolate, the kids bundled up and had some fun in the snow!

For some reason Jonas has starting carrying around weird things as "pets".  So far he has a pet potato, and a pet water balloon.  He even brought the potato to church on Sunday!

After church we went out for lunch, and Jonas kept himself busy (and entertained the people around us) by stacking the jellies into huge towers.  One older gentleman reminded us after lunch to take our "bricklayer" home!

Happy Birthday, Denny!  Jonas had a great time at Denny's birthday party Sunday afternoon!  He even drew Denny a picture of Gort (the robot from "The Day the Earth Stood Still)...too bad he's the only one who has any idea who Gort is :-)
