April Candids

Here are some pictures from some of the things we did in April that didn't warrant a post of their own.  Enjoy :-)

The kids helped me stuff Easter eggs for our Sunday School Easter egg hunt.  What helpful kids!

Aunt Lisa organized a fun art project.  They covered a piece of cardboard with aluminum foil and then colored their pictures with Sharpies.  There's some shiny pictures!

We went to Great Grandma Fran's for our last pizza party in her house.  Jonas had a great time with all of his cousins and asked for a photo shoot with Hayden.

Jonas had to get some tests done at Children's, so Andrew and I coordinated our schedules to be able to take him together.  Jonas loved having a "Mommy Daddy Day".  We celebrated the good news of the test with a little Dave and Buster's time.

Jonas' first photo bomb:

Jonas was in the Pig Race at school for selling lots of cookie dough.  He won $25!

We spent a day out in Collins adventuring in the woods and in the gravel pits.  Jonas loved climbing up the hills in the sand pits and got super dirty.  We took a time out from our 4-wheeling trip to play by the creek and to see some tadpoles and frogs!

The weather has been beautiful the past few days, and we took advantage of it on Sunday with a trip to the trails and the playground.

Jonas has been having fun at school, too.  He learned about static electricity, and wrote some nice stories!

May promises to start out with beautiful weather, and we have some more fun things planned, so check back soon!

Happy 7th Birthday, Bethany!

Bethany turned 7 last week!  We celebrated with a Stitch party...

and Jonas and I got her some LEGO Friends.

Of course, Jonas was right in on the action when it came time to blow out the candles.  He must be getting older though, because even though you could tell he wanted to, he refrained from blowing them out for her.

We love you, Bethany!  Happy Birthday!

Date Day

Jonas and I had a date day today!  We started off with some Dairy Queen.

We went to the park to play on the playground.  Jonas is an awesome climber!

We walked along the trails and kept track of all the wildlife we saw - birds, geese, a dragonfly, and a chipmunk!

Jonas fell out of the car while he was getting in (I don't know how he did it either), and wanted to re-enact it so I could take a picture.

After brushing off his hands, we went to the library for speech class and stayed and read some books.  We went to the mall and bought him some new sneakers, visited the SPCA, and went to see The Croods at the movies.

We had such a good day just visiting and chatting and enjoying the weather.  Jonas even thanked me for everything he got to do today while I was tucking him into bed.  Today was one of those days that I remembered how happy I am that I have him :-)

Zoo Day!

We went to the Buffalo Zoo yesterday with the Laffertys, the Gabels, and the Chamizos!

We got there in time to see the new baby polar bear, Luna.  She was super playful and cute.
From Zoo Day

It's always fun to go to the zoo when it's a little colder out, because some of the animals that you don't usually see out and around are playful.  So we got to see the otters and lions!

Of course, we also visited the gorilla family.  The baby gorilla was out and climbing around, and Koga, the daddy, was staring us down the whole time.

We visited the rain forest, which is one of my favorites.  The highlight for the kids though, was the bridge.

The last stop on our trip was the giraffes.  It was neat to see them up close in the giraffe house, and we saw them get fed!

As always, a trip to the zoo is a good time.  It was especially fun today because we got to share the fun with Aunt Laura and Uncle Carlos!  We'll miss them when they go back to North Carolina!

Easter Festivities

Jonas and I had a really great Easter. We started off on Saturday morning with dying some Easter eggs.  Jonas got really into it, and decorated each one with crayons before sticking it in the dye.  He wouldn't give any of them up afterwards either, no matter how much Papa begged.  :-)

Jonas' favorite egg:

Jonas hunted for his basket Easter morning.  The Easter bunny hid it in a really hard spot this year - in a suitcase!

After church, we headed out to Collins for lunch and flew kites.  It was a perfect day for it, and tons of fun!

We went to Grandma and Papa's for an Easter egg hunt and dinner.  This is the best picture I could get of the 5 cousins.

My super cute God daughter:

Mary took one of my Godson, Hayden, and me too, and I'll have to post that one after I get a copy from her.

Jonas and his Godmother:

And Jonas and me!

I hope you all had as wonderful of an Easter as we did!

March Candids

This post isn't about a specific event...it's really just some random pictures from March.  So, enjoy!

Jonas worked hard on finishing his Avengers puzzle!

We went to a Sugar House with everyone to learn about how maple syrup is made - yummy!  We rode behind a tractor down to the sugar house, looked at all the steam from the boiling sap, and walked a little bit down the trail to see the lines tapped into the maple trees.

After the sugar house we went back to Duane's for a 4-wheeler ride and to play at the creek in the woods.

Hopefully the April posts will have some sunshine in them!  But, we can't complain...we still managed to have lots of fun!
